We are very keen to help your child to settle quickly into school life and for the first few days this will be our daily routine.
School starts at 9:00am
Children will be collected from the playground and taken inside by the EYFS staff. They will hang up their coats and place their book bag and water bottles in the box and trays provided.
Children will then choose an activity to do for 5 to 10 mins while everyone settles.
The children will be given the 1, 2, 3 instruction for them to move into their classroom. Butterfly 1 children with Mrs Dix and Butterfly 2 children with Mrs McKenzie or Mrs Jordan. During this carpet time the children will have the opportunity to share news or experiences, make new friends and learn some of our class and school rules.
After register and together time continuous provision begins. During this time children will choose an activity of their choice, whilst we will be getting to know your child by working and talking alongside them. The children will be encouraged to move freely between all the classrooms in EYFS including the outdoor classroom and garden. During the morning the nursery children will be given the opportunity to enjoy a snack. They will have a drink, either milk or water and a piece of fruit. This snack will be provided by school.
After break time children have access to all areas and this will continue through till lunch time for the reception Butterflies. Nursery Butterflies finish their session at 12 pm and can be collected by parents and carers in the EYFS garden.
The reception Butterflies will have afternoon register, a short together time and then free choice activities inside and outside.
The school day finishes at 3.30 pm and the children will be taken onto the Main playground. They will stay in line till the class teacher says their name when they see the parent/carer. (Please do not call your child, wait for the teacher to say their name).
