Canon Pendorf - or "Father Jim" is known by the boys and girls - is one of two foundation governors (ex-officio as Priest-in-Charge). He hails from New Jersey and has been at Capel since April 2013. He expects to retire later this year.
Father Jim has had varied appointments in the Church of England since 1969. He was Chairman of the Governing Body for St. Alban's (now) Academy, Highgate, Birmingham. For thirteen years he served as Birmingham Diocesan Secretary.
He and his wife, Sharon, have lived in Suffolk since 2003. They previously lived in Woolverstone and supported St. Michael's Church along with the other four parishes in the Benefice.
Father Jim oversaw the restoration of St. Mary's Church. It now hosts whole school collective worship three times a year.
